Firm History
On November 1, 1972, Wesley
F. Troutt, a manager with the Big 8 firm of
Lybrand, Ross Bros. & Montgomery (nowPricewaterhouseCoopers), and another independent CPA
purchased a bookkeeping and tax practice and
formed the CPA firm of Sellberg, Troutt &
Co. in Harrisonville, Missouri.
In 1975, we acquired the practice of
James Head in Butler, Missouri. Butch Beeman joined
the Firm in 1978 following his graduation from SMSU.
In July of 1981, Butch was admitted as partner of
the Firm. Growing had become a habit -- on June 1,
1983, an agreement was reached with a local CPA, J.B.
Coke, to purchase his practice.
In 1988, the Firm's name was changed to Troutt,
Beeman & Co., P.C. On January 1, 1991, Troutt,
Beeman & Co., P.C. and the Olathe Firm of Norton,
Kahmann & Klayder were merged. The Firm's name was
changed to Troutt, Beeman, Norton & Kahmann, P.C.
In September 1995, the Firm's name was changed to
Troutt, Beeman & Co., P.C. On July 1, 1997, Michael
E. Groszek was admitted as a partner of the firm.
Troutt, Beeman & Co., P.C. currently serves clients
in Cass County, Bates County, Jackson County, and
Johnson County, Missouri. Our Olathe office
predominantly serves clients in Miami and Johnson
County, Kansas. We provide quality service to a
diversified clientele in three basic area of

Troutt, Beeman & Co., P.C. is committed to serving
clients with creative, diversified personnel that
devote a portion of each year to meeting the
educational standards of both the AICPA and our
state societies. In addition to meeting the
requirement of an average of 40 credit hours per
year of continuing education in a variety of fields,
we also meet the Yellow Book standard of 24
governmental credit hours in a two-year period for
all staff members involved in governmental audits.
We are also a member of the Missouri Municipal
League and are a corporate sponsor at their annual
meetings.
As a member of the AICPA’s Division for CPA Firms,
we are subject to periodic peer reviews of our
accounting and auditing engagements. Our firm
received an unqualified report as a result of our
most recent peer review, which is our industry’s
assurance that a firm adheres to the most rigorous
quality standards of our profession.
